Google Cancels Checkout AdWords Credit

Having used Google Checkout, along with almost every other payment system out there I am sad to see Google withdraw its support for Google Checkout AdWords credits.
This today from Google;
“We’ll also be discontinuing the AdWords free transaction processing promotion on May 5, 2009. Any AdWords transaction processing credits accrued during April 2009 will be applied towards transactions that occur on May 1-4, 2009.”
The free AdWords credits were a powerful sales tool we used for clients not ready to jump on-board the Google Checkout bandwagon.
With PayPal becoming more of the direction and bottom line for eBay, I hope Google isn’t loosing sight of what services current providers are not meeting.
